| Requirements and Responsibilities For Nursing Manager |
| Manages daily operations of a nursing unit in a hospital or other medical facility to maintain standards of patient care. Responsible for implementing all nursing services in compliance with current local, state, and federal standards and regulations. Monitors the quality of patient care and services and makes recommendations and/or adjustments as needed. Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Typically reports to a director. Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes. |
