| Requirements and Responsibilities For VP of Engineering Program Management |
| Plans and oversees an organization's entire engineering program management function. Provides strategic oversight and leadership to support the development and launch of engineering programs. Ensures engineering programs maintain alignment with the business strategy and mission. Develops and promotes standardized methods for project estimating, procurement, reporting, and other project-related processes. Collaborates with business leaders to identify urgent needs and plan and schedule new programs into the organization's roadmap. Responsible for budget development and approval. Negotiates and secures resources to support programs. Leads the research, development, and testing of engineering design concepts, criteria, and specifications. Responsible for creating and maintaining strong customer and vendor relationships. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. Manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. Typically requires 8+ years of managerial experience. Comprehensive knowledge of the overall departmental function. |
